From December 2005 to March 2007 I worked at the marketing agency, McCann Erickson, in the Bristol office, where I helped start a new digital team. At first the work included the server setup, documentation and website development, until Dave Rees joined us as the front end developer, taking over responsibility of the CSS and XHTML.
The G Plan website was a re-design from a frame based site, using an MS Access database for the retailers details and fabric/model information.
We started with a new visual design from Ruth Suddes, and worked with Pauline Handke at G Plan, and their developer Ken Abbott, to get a new CSV feed to update the stockist tables.
Some of the more notable features include the retailer search by map and postcode, the integration with Google maps, and some of the general accessibility features like the high contrast style sheet.
